To quote Bill Cosby, "I started out as a child..." I grew up in Pendleton, NY near the Erie Canal. The nearest city is Lockport which was built around the Erie Canal locks needed to raise the level of the canal by 60 feet. Lockport is north of Buffalo and east of Niagara Falls. I have been interested in electronics for a long time. My Grandparents bought me the Radio Shack 150 Projects-in-one kit for my 13th birthday. I have been hooked ever since. I attended Starpoint Central School and graduated in 1982. I attended the Rochester Institute of Technology and graduated with a BSEE in 1987. I later attended graduate school part-time and received an MSEE in 1994. After graduation from college, I worked in Rochester, NY at the RF Communications division of Harris Corporation as a design engineer in the VHF tactical products group. I worked mainly on the AN/PRC-117 family of man-portable VHF radios and accessories. After that, I spent almost 5 years in Indianapolis, Indiana working on Cable TV Test Equipment at Wavetek which later became Acterna. I currently am back in the Rochester, NY area. I am currently employed as a Principal RF Engineer at Flightline Systems in Victor, NY. Flightline is a manufacturer of VHF sonobuoy receivers and other related equipment. I am involved in RF and system design for sonobuoy receivers.
